Some unfortunate news for fans of understated romance: the official Japanese theatrical release for Happy-Go-Lucky Days (known as Dounika Naru Hibi in Japan), an omnibus film based on the manga by Takako Shimura about everyday encounters in the realms of life and love, has been postponed over concerns about the potential spread of the novel coronavirus.
The original Happy-Go-Lucky Days manga was serialized in Ohta Publishing's Manga Erotics F magazine. The story of the series focuses on the sometimes sweet, sometimes painful encounters of ordinary people falling in love - such as a high school boy who confesses his feelings to his teacher, childhood friends whose feelings deepen as they grow up together, or a pair of jilted former lovers who connect at their mutual ex's wedding.
Happy-Go-Lucky Days is directed by Takuya Sato and features animation production by Liden Films Kyoto Studio. Originally scheduled to be released on May 08, 2020, the new release date for the film has not yet been revealed.
